Unwired Insight was founded in 2001. We are based in Cambridgeshire, in the UK. We have undertaken customised analysis and advisory project for a wide variety of clients. In addition, we have produced many reports on the mobile industry. These reports have been purchased by over 250 companies worldwide, including the world’s leading operators and network infrastructure vendors.
Working with several major international law firms, we have provided expert witnesses in a variety of intellectual property disputes related to mobile technology. We are regularly quoted by media organisations worldwide.
Unwired Insight is headed by mobile industry veterans Dr Alastair Brydon and Dr Mark Heath.

Dr Alastair Brydon (CEO)
Prior to founding Unwired Insight, Alastair was responsible for driving the take-up of Nokia’s products and services across Europe, Middle East and Africa and worked with many of Nokia’s customers to implement market firsts ranging from the introduction of prepaid mobile tariffs to new mass-market content services.
Previously, Alastair worked in a number of roles for the BT Group, focusing on the evolution of wireless technologies, networks and services. He also contributed to international research and standardisation of GSM, DECT and UMTS.
Alastair holds BSc and PhD degrees from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET) and Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE).

Dr Mark Heath (co-founder)
Prior to Unwired Insight, Mark held a number of business development roles in Nokia, ultimately defining strategy and business development across Europe.
Previously, Mark was responsible for technology strategic planning at BT Cellnet in the UK, after spending six years at BT in wireless systems research and development, where he was involved in the standardisation and optimisation of wireless systems, including GSM, DECT, IS-54, IS-95 and UMTS.
Mark holds BSc and PhD degrees from the University of Leeds, winning the University prize for his telecommunications research. Mark also holds an MBA, graduating as top student from Henley Management College.
